Pair of 5th gears to suit DS or SM gearbox.
Extra high ratio of .625:1 (same as C35 ratio - 40:25 teeth).
With these gears and standard ratio final drive, the engine is doing approx 2500rpm at 70mph in 5th gear.
Ideal if you have a noisy 5th gear or just want more relaxed motorway cruising, and the best bit is that 5th gear can be changed without removing the gearbox from the car.
These are brand new parts made in the UK.

5th gear and engine quieter - can be done without gearbox removal but you need to make a tool
I just fitted a set to my DS23 to resolve the 5th gear whine which was especially noisy at around 50 mph.
I modified a 36mm AF ½ inch drive crows foot spanner to fit in the 5mm space behind the 46mm diameter speedo gear. It took a couple of hours with a Dremel to do this. The speedo gear needs to tightened to about 200 lf-ft so you need to start with a good one.
Other than that it is very straightforward to fit these gears with the gearbox still in situ. I recommend looking at the DS-TT YouTube video before you start. I also fitted a new synchro ring.
I can’t say that 5th gear is now completely silent but it is much quieter. And so is the engine in 5th. Well worth doing!
