Originally fitted from May 1967 onwards. Before this a different screw was used without a washer.

Note: We often see these fitted with the raised lip towards the wing and some people say that they were fitted that way from the factory. Well, with the benefit of hindsight, we now know that the factory got many things wrong....
Fitting the washer with the raised sharp edge towards the wing will damage your paint and split the washer when it bends upon tightening. Use your common sense and fit it with the raised edge outwards.
